Vacation Scheme

Successful candidates have good IT skills, show a positive ‘can do’ attitude with a willingness to learn. The restrictions are usually 20 hours per week, being the seven day period from Monday to Sunday, forBachelors,MastersandResearchDegrees and 10 hours per week for theFoundation programmes. Our online platform will ask that you submit an anonymised CV. You will also be asked to submit a covering letter which should be limited to 2 pages of A4. We ask that you copy and paste your covering letter into the personal summary box. Please do not sign your name at the end of your cover letter text in the personal summary box.

Afterwards you can relax in your holiday home, for example if your holiday apartment offers a cozy fireplace or a luxurious private spa. The accommodation will be provided where it is available, which is unlikely to mean the student’s term-time room. The vacation scheme is open to those candidates who are planning to take up a training contract in two years’ time. We run vacation schemes over the summer period, these are hands on roles where you are actually working as part of the team rather than just shadowing. Please make an application between 1 October 2021 – 31 January 2022 to either of the schemes. We review applications on a rolling basis so please apply at your earliest convenience. Our summer placements are a great way to make your mark – and could lead to a training contract.

You are likely to spend time in corporate, commercial property and private client advisory teams as well as the firm’s specialist practice areas such as employment, litigation, shipping and agriculture. Candidates who complete the summer vacation scheme will be offered a training contract interview. All of this on a summer vacation scheme that results in, on average, 90% of participants receiving a training contract offer from us. Uncertainty about whether they will be granted residence is also a source of anxiety among Junior Members. To clarify the circumstances under which the College may allow such residence, the guidelines below are suggested. We are looking for dedicated, diverse candidates with a strong academic record and commercial awareness. You should be passionate about law, a great team player and have exceptional communication skills. Or even, Private and Family Office matters for our high net worth clients.
